NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

TASHI DELEK!!!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR GHOST MONTH
      August 13 & 14 Activities

HUNDRED DEITIES PRAYER FOR THE DECEASED

The Hundred Deities Prayer is conducted for the benefit of all the deceased. During the ceremony, we call upon the Hundred Deities and make offerings to them. The merits accumulated from these offerings are dedicated to the deceased to help them in their karma purification and liberation. The prayer will also help awaken the consciousness of the souls in the Bardo (intermediate period between death and rebirth) so that they may be liberated and may take rebirth in Amitabha Buddha’s Pure Land instead of the six realms of Samsara (wheel of existence).

At the end of the ritual, the paper tablets with the names of the deceased are burnt. The fire symbolizes the wisdom of the Hundred Deities and the act of burning represents the cutting of the attachment of the deceased from the notion of “ego” or “self” (which is the cause of one’s sufferings). It is said that through this ceremony, the consciousness of the deceased are merged together with the wisdom of the Hundred Deities bringing the deceased to their liberation.

For those who participate and make offerings in the Hundred Deities Prayer ceremony, it is said that they will accumulate immeasurable merits and also extinguish bad or negative karmic connections with the deceased.

LONG LIFE (AMITAYUS) LUD RITUAL PRAYER AND BLESSING

Amitayus is the Buddha of Infinite/ Boundless Life. He is the samboghakaya form of Amitabha, the Buddha of Infinite Light. Sincere practice and devotion to Amitayus is said to help eliminate all the obstacles to long life (such as sickness, curse, emotional and physical pain) and thus, allowing the practitioner to advance in his spiritual practice and accumulate more merit.

Philippine Tibetan Nyingma Palyul
Buddhist Center

Manila, Philippines
Established in 1992.

About the Center

Through the kind intercession of the late Venerable Chodak Gyatso Rinpoche - the resident spiritual advisor for the Hong Kong Palyul Center, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche accepted an invitation from his devout followers living in the Philippines to visit the country. In 1992, HH Penor Rinpoche travelled to the Philippines together with several important lamas. After seeing the conditions in the Philippines, HH Penor Rinpoche was overcome with compassion and agreed to open a Palyul center. Since then, HH Penor Rinpoche visits the Philippines and gives teachings and empowerments about every two years. Our first resident spiritual advisor was Kalsang Rinpoche. He was followed by Lama Gyurme. Currently, Samten Phunchhok Rinpoche is assigned to our center. He occasionally gives Dharma discourses and performs pujas upon request.

Weekly Pujas at the Center

Regular pujas are held at the Center every Saturday at 6 pm. Everyone is invited to join. For more details, please check our Calendar of Events.

We also have ongoing dharma talks on Ngondro Practice every week. Please contact any lama at 715-2090 to obtain the schedule.
