SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - SATURDAY MAY 25, 2013 ACTIVITIES
FIFTEEN DAY LAMP OFFERING –May 10 - 25, 2013 (DAY OF VESAK DAY)
On this day, we celebrate the birth, enlightenment and Parinirvana of Buddha Sakyamuni. It is said that actions, whether positive or negative are multiplied into ten million folds. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to collect merits for yourselves, your families, your communities and most of all, for the benefit of the all the suffering beings in this world of which in one of our past lifetimes might be our parents.
In the Samadhiraja Sutra it is said: Those who, while walking, sitting, standing, or sleeping, recollect the moon-like Buddha, will always be in Buddha’s presence, and will attain the vast nirvana. And: His pure body is the colour of gold, beautiful is the Protector of the World. Whoever visualizes him like this, practises the meditation of the bodhisattvas. In keeping with this, we should practise remembering our incomparable teacher, the Lord of Sages, in the following way of prayer.
Please come and do not miss this once-in-a-year event! Buddha Bathing Ceremony and a Sakyamuni Buddha Puja will cap off the day’s auspiciousness starting 6:00 pm.
For those who cannot physically attend the ceremonies, you may contact 715-2090 for the opportunity to offer oil lamps (Php 70.00), flowers or as part of the collective offering during the puja. Any amount heartily given will be accepted.
All members are advised to make light offerings, recite mantras and prayers for fifteen days in order to help overcome obstacles and to generate favorable conditions for academic excellence, material gains, wisdom, compassion and wealth of dharma.
