Ngagyur Karma Grand Sadhana May 30 2018

Last May 30, 2018, a grand sadhana prayer was conducted in Palyul Monastery, in Sichuan China. It was presided by our sublime head, 12th Palyul Throne Holder His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche.

A “sadhana” is an intense prayer ritual. This grand sadhana involved hundreds of Palyul Monastery monks. It is dedicated to the Ngagyur Kama, a great collection of literature mainly containing the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni. These teachings are passed down orally from teacher to student since the time of Buddha Shakyamuni, through an unbroken line of teachers.

The Sadhana included a cham, or “sacred lama dance”.

The Palyul monastic college houses one of the greatest collections of Kama and Termas in wood blocks in this world today. It is said to contain 130 volumes to date. This is due to the unfailing energy and vision of HH Thubsang Rinpoche to preserve these vast written collections under his close guidance.
