January 5, 2021 – Manila | Last December 31, 2020, the monks of our temple did special prayers on the 9th birthday of the 4th Penor Yangsi Rinpoche for his longevity. Here is a video summary of the auspicious event.
First, Khenpo Tashi gave some short teachings on the importance of the teacher, especially such masters as HH 3rd Penor Rinpoche. The 3rd Penor Rinpoche’s activities were vast, such as establishing Namdroling Monastery in India, and opening smaller temples in different countries, and giving countless teachings for the benefit of followers and sentient beings.
Then, the monks listened to a recording of Penor Rinpoche’s teaching. This was followed by recitation of the Buddha Amitayus Boundless Life and Wisdom Mahayana Sutra, for the long life and vast activity of Penor Yangsi. After which, the monks recited the Sampa Lhundrub and Barche Lamsel prayers. Then, other prayers such as the King of Aspirations Sutra and so on, followed.
